Dalal Al-Abdulrazzak is the VP of Conservation Programs at Ocean Wise, a global nonprofit whose vision is a world in which the ocean is healthy and thriving. She has extensive experience working on marine conservation issues with diverse stakeholders including industry, policymakers, NGOs, and academia to effect positive change. She was formerly a VP and Chief Science Officer at Vericatch, an Ocean Policy Analyst at UNDP, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia’s Fisheries Centre. Dalal is particularly interested in the role of technology in achieving the triple bottom line of sustainable fisheries, healthy marine ecosystems, and a thriving local economy. She has a BA in Environmental Studies from Middlebury College, a PhD in Zoology from UBC and was the recipient of a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship. She was born and raised in Kuwait and currently resides near Vancouver, BC.
